DETROIT UNCORKED INVITES GUESTS TO TASTE WINE, FEED NEIGHBORS

12TH ANNUAL WINE TASTING FUNDRAISER COMES TO GLEANERS WAREHOUSE ON OCTOBER 14TH

(Detroit, MI – September 30, 2016) … On Friday, October 14, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., over 800 food and wine enthusiasts will join representatives and executives from Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan (Gleaners) and The Detroit Wine Organization (DWO) at Gleaners’ Warehouse & Distribution Center ( 2131 Beaufait Street, Detroit, MI 48207 ) for the 12 th annual Detroit Uncorked. One of the region’s largest wine tasting events for charity where every dollar raised will provide three nutritious meals for hungry neighbors in southeast Michigan. Detroit Uncorked is presented by Kroger Co. of Michigan (Kroger) and supported by Delta Air Lines (DELTA).

As Detroit Uncorked guests enter Gleaners’ Detroit headquarters, they will be treated to a selection of over 300 premium wines from around the world, food samples from 15+ Detroit area restaurants, Michigan craft beers and premium craft cocktails. Live entertainment will be provided throughout the evening and The Detroit Wine Organization will award Joel Gott Wines with its coveted 2016 Winery of the Year award.

A silent auction filled with unique, high-end items includes: six custom made, life-size Jack Daniel statues (each 6’ statue will come with a corresponding bottle of “Jack”); a hand sewn French Calfskin leather purse from Beau Satchelle and 14k yellow-gold earrings with sapphires and diamonds from Kramar Jewelry. The auction will also feature rare wines and one-of-a-kind experiences and more.

Fox 2 Detroit anchor and 100.3 WNIC morning host Jay Towers will emcee the VIP Experience that offers VIP ticket holders ultra-premium spirit tastings, strolling dinner and a chance to meet representatives from the DWO’s 2016 Winery of the Year. Detroit Uncorked guests who choose the VIP Experience will have exclusive access to the most rare and limited wines.
