JCC Golf Classic raises funds for children

The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit will host the 24th Annual Dr. Larry D. Sills Memorial JCC Golf Classic on Monday, June 26 at Tam-O-Shanter Country Club in West Bloomfield.

This year’s event, which will include card games, will honor Jerry and Carol Eisenshtadt, their sons and daughters-in-law Steve and Mallery, Howard and Sharon, and Jeffrey and Wendy. All proceeds will benefit JCC Day Camps and youth programming.

Carol Eisenshtadt is a past president of the JCC and the JCC Board of Directors, and she served as president of the board of the JCC Women’s Health Club, where she continues to be active organizing day trips around Metro Detroit. For many years, both Jerry and Carol were volunteers with JCC Maccabi, including Carol’s three years serving as director of housing.

Steve is on the JCC Board of Directors and was chair of venues for the JCC Maccabi Games & ArtsFest; Howard was a volunteer for JCC Maccabi, and Sharon is on the board of directors of JARC and ORT; Jeffrey is a former president of JARC who now serves on the organization’s board of directors, and Wendy is former vice president of Jewish Family Services and served as head of the JFS Finance Committee.

The Golf Classic begins at 11 a.m. with lunch, followed by shotgun/scramble at 12:30 p.m. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at6:30 p.m. Sponsorships are available.
