Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Launches Coat Drive

How long could you last outside in this Michigan weather without a coat? Imagine going the entire winter without one. It’s shivering just thinking about it but it’s a cold reality for many Michigan adults and children. Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to the rescue! They’re sponsoring their annual (30th year and counting!) “Coats for the Cold” Coat Drive Nov. 1 – 28. New or clean, used coats collected will be donated to area charities, who will connect the coats to Michigan residents that need them.

Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a press release, “Coats for the Cold is an easy way for the community to reach out and help someone less fortunate stay warm this winter.”

So, do a closet raid and drop off any coats you don’t wear anymore to any local Real Estate One office or Genisys Credit Union branch in Oakland County. After all, would you rather have a coat you don’t wear anymore keeping a hanger warm or keeping a fellow Michigan resident toasty?
