Silent Movie Weekend—Show People (1928) and Laurel & Hardy Shorts with Organist Andrew Rogers

Live organ accompaniment will be provided by Andrew Rogers, who has performed music for silent films for many years at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, the Senate Theater in Detroit, and many other venues.

In Show People, starry-eyed country girl Peggy Pepper (Marion Davies) dreams of being a movie star. So she heads off to Hollywood to make a name for herself.

Show People will be accompanied by two Laurel and Hardy short comedies (Two Tars and The Finishing Touch).

All three movies were released in 1928, and are being presented as part of the Redford Theatre’s 95th anniversary celebration.
