Auto supplier BorgWarner to expand in Auburn Hills, add 76 jobs

BorgWarner, a global automotive parts supplier geared toward technologies to improve fuel economy and emissions, announced plans Thursday to expand its Auburn Hills operations and create 76 jobs with support from the Michigan Strategic Fund, state officials said.

The project is expected to generate $27 million in total investment.

“BorgWarner is a global player in automotive R&D and could have chosen to expand anywhere in the world. The company’s decision to invest in Michigan reflects the great advantage of locating in the heart of automotive research and development,” said Steve Arwood, CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corp. “This new expansion will mean excellent jobs for our residents, and we applaud BorgWarner’s commitment to Michigan.”

The MEDC administers incentives and programs on behalf of the state’s strategic fund.
