The Rebound Detroit: Help for small businesses in metro Detroit

Before the pandemic, nearly half of Michigan’s workforce were employees of small businesses. It’s vital that we keep these companies going, and that’s why we launched The Rebound Detroit.

Robin Taylor is the master of reinvention. Three states and 40 years as a hair stylist, she has faced rebuilding.

The last time was three years ago due to a family crisis. She launched “Forever Your Haircare” in Shelby Township – her dad was near death.

Then, right before the statewide shutdown over COVID-19, her body came under attack.

“The cough would take my breath if I talked because I would start coughing,” she said. “It was horrible.”

Once she got healthy, she got busy. The spart came from a call from another small business owner, Kimberly Hill Knott, who has met with a lot of movers and shakers. She’s president of Future Insight Consultants, which focuses on corporate sustainability.
