If you’re looking for a magical way to ring in the month of August, then head to Colon, Michigan, to celebrate the annual magic festival in the Magic Capital of the World.
Normally, this farm town’s population sits near 1,100. But for a few spellbinding days a year, it nearly doubles as tourists flock here to see hundreds of magicians amaze and entertain in the streets, restaurants and bars throughout the central Michigan village.
The 81st annual Abbott’s Magic Get Together, which is co-presented by Abbott’s Magic Company and the Colon Lions Club, will run Wednesday through Saturday. The fest features performances for both children and adults, including an annual craft fair on Friday and Saturday, as well as a magic adventure at the Colon Historical Museum and fireworks on Friday night.
