Elevate Detroit

Creating communities that connect people to Jesus.

Young adults elevating the homeless of Detroit.

Community BBQs – At a park in Detroit, hanging out with our homeless friends, BBQs are a great chance to see the Kingdom of God take shape. Every Saturday the park at 2nd & Selden becomes a place to see the Church being the Church. The point is to simply make new friends and show people the love of Jesus. No strings attached… we just want to hang out, have fun and love. ‘Cause we believe that with Jesus there is such a thing as a free lunch.

The Community BBQs are a collaborative effort put together by Elevate Detroit along with quarterLife (from Kensington), AXIOM (from Kensington), two28 (from Cornerstone Baptist), Bethany Baptist, the Catholic Young Adult Ministry, Genesis the Church, The Stand (from Highland Park Baptist), REAL Church, Warren Woods Church, Rochester 1st Assembly, Brightmoor Church, The Tree (Flint), Faith Tabernacle (Flint), A Little Grace, Inter-Varsity at U of M Dearborn & Wayne State, FAST (from Kensington), Panera Bread, Honest John’s Bar and Cairns Community Center.
