‘America’s Got Talent’ favorite, Detroit Youth Choir, going digital for spring concert

They lifted Detroit’s spirits last year with their “America’s Got Talent” run to second place. Now they want to do it again with an online performance.

The Detroit Youth Choir is inviting the public to view its spring benefit concert, which will include a bow-out ceremony for eight singers from the nationally recognized vocal group who are graduating this year.

The event will be streamed live at 6 p.m. Friday on the Facebook page of Livonia’s Bill Brown Ford. The automotive dealership asked the choir to be part of a concert series it’s been hosting for nine weeks to help local musicians whose live bookings have been halted by the COVID-19 crisis.

In September, the Detroit Youth Choir won the number-two spot in the NBC reality competition after becoming a viewer favorite for their inspirational versions of hits like “Can’t Hold Us.”
