Detroit City Council OKs spending $13M ARPA money on athletic dome

Detroit is spending more than $13 million on a new athletic air dome on the city’s east side.

Detroit City Council on Tuesday approved a contract funded by the American Rescue Plan Act for $13,964,487 for the recreational facility in Chandler Park. Several council members preferred to invest in a brick-and-mortar recreational space instead, with one calling it a waste of money.
