The Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres made a minor-league deal of mutual convenience Saturday night. The Tigers acquired 19-year-old pitcher Blake Dickerson from the San Diego Padres for $500,000 of international bonus pool money.
The Tigers found a way to re-allocate the leftover bonus pool money and the Padres got back the money they forfeited when they signed free agent Xander Bogaerts last year.
