Divine Child’s Brooke Dolkowski wins Metro Detroit soccer MVP poll

Metro Detroit has always been a hotbed for high school girls soccer and this week’s fan poll helped prove that point.

In a poll asking fans to vote for the player they would have like to see be the Metro Detroit area’s MVP, over 120,000 votes were tallied in the process.

In the end, it was Brooke Dolkowski of Dearborn Divine Child who collected the most votes, finishing with 30,899 votes. She finished over 10,000 votes ahead of runner-up Karsen Murray of Berkley, who brought in 20,303 votes. Detroit Country Day goalkeeper Lila Bienhold was in third with 17,686 votes.

As a sophomore midfielder last spring, Dolkowski was one of the five Divine Child players to earn All-State honors last year in Division 2, but the only one who earned First Team honors from the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association. She was also All-Catholic, All-Region and All-District. She also led the team in goals and assists.

Dolkowski helped lead Divine Child to a great season last spring as the Falcons were one of the state’s top teams in Division 2, finishing with an 18-4-2 record. Divine Child fell, 1-0, to eventual state champion Bloomfield Hills Marian in the region championships.
