Grosse Pointe Theatre’s production of Anything Goes sets sail Nov. 10-19

Grosse Pointe Theatre will present the popular Cole Porter and P.G. Wodehouse musical Anything Goes, Nov. 10-19, at Pierce Auditorium in Grosse Pointe Park. Come aboard the ocean liner S.S. American for this classic musical that will entertain audiences of all ages with hilarious comedic scenes, incredible dancing, and timeless songs such as “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” “Anything Goes,” and more.

Director Don Bischoff has assembled a multi-talented cast and crew. Audiences will see the amazing set, exquisite costumes, hear some of the most gifted singers, and see some of the most energized tap dancing to hit the stage.

The story is about nightclub singer and evangelist Reno Sweeney’s transatlantic cruise from New York to England. Her pal Billy has stowed away on the ship to be near his true love, Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to the wealthy Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Joining this love triangle on board are Public Enemy #13, Moonface Martin, his sidekick Erma, and other colorful characters. With the help of tap-dancing sailors, the characters are eager for true love to prevail.
