Handyman Ministries Community Projects

Handyman Ministries is collaborating with General Motors, Michigan Department of Human Services and Michigan Land Bank.  The project will include renovating five occupied homes within the 3900-4300 blocks of Buckingham, Berkshire, Chatsworth and Balfour and the 15600-15920 block of Bremen Street which surrounds Clark school.

Project Details:

·       Each weekday will include: home repair(s), 1 community barbeque for the block, 1 block clean-up and the boarding up of 3-5 vacant homes

·       Saturday August 4, 2012 will be dedicated to the boarding up of 5-10 vacant homes.  The day will close by hosting a large community barbeque for all 5 blocks helped in the project

General Motors will be providing 300 volunteer from Monday, July 30 thru Friday, Aug. 3. Anyone can join in any day but we seek volunteers on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 to  help with the barbeque, board-ups and share their testimony with the community of that area by reflecting the love of Christ. Showing strangers that the Body of Christ cares for their well being is that very reflection and empowers them with hope and motivation for change.

On Thursday 8/2 Gov. Rick Snyder, Major Dave Bing and the director of Detroit public schools Roy Roberts will be hosting a press conference at Clark school. They have made many inquiries about our project so my hope is many will come wearing their 2WORD STORY shirts and represent our ONE CHURCH.
