The International Marine City Comic Con is back, and it has a new home. The 2018 comic book and pop culture event, now in its third year, has moved from a patchwork collection of event locations on Water Street to a single home for all of the day’s events at the Marine City Banquet Center. It is the first year the convention is operating as a stand-alone event with everything taking place in a single location. The inaugural convention took place during Maritime Days in 2016, and last year’s event featured vendors, guest appearances and activities in many of Water Street’s parks and businesses.Comic con organizer Jennifer Vandenboscche said the indoor facility has made the convention more attractive to vendors.“When we have them outdoors, even under tents, rain or humidity can get to their merchandise,” Vandenbossche said.
