National Day of Prayer Struck Down

Where in the Constitution does it say there should be a separation of Church and State. We were founded on Christian-Judeau principals, some of our laws were written based on the Ten Commandments…. Read the book, “Original Intent”, it is based on actual letters written by our Founders. The author has the largest collection of authentic pre 1812 correspondence. No where in the Constitution will you find that the government can not promote religion it simply can not demand it… it also must not prohibit the exercise of religion… nor the expression of it…

The 1st amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Bushes Day of Prayer did exactly what the constitution requires… allow its citizens to exercise there FREDOM OF religion. IT DID NOT push any specific religion. This judge is just another progressive trying to rewrite OUR Constitution!!!

I must state here that BO has NOT abolished the National Day of Prayer!

A federal judge in Madison has ruled the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional.

U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb reached the conclusion in a lawsuit the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Madison-based group of atheists and agnostics, brought against former President George W. Bush’s administration near the end of his second term. The foundation argued the day violates the separation of church and state.

Congress established the day in 1952 and in 1988 set the first Thursday in May as the day for presidents to issue proclamations asking Americans to pray.

A message left at the U.S. Department of Justice, which represented the government in the case, wasn’t immediately returned.
