St. Dunstan’s kicks off their 92nd season with “Anatomy of Gray”

St. Dunstan Theatre is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated
production of Anatomy of Gray, a captivating theatrical experience that promises to enchant
audiences and leave them pondering life mysteries. This heartwarming and thought-
provoking play will be performed at St. Dunstan Theatre in Bloomfield Hills, MI, from
October 13 – 22, 2023.

Anatomy of Gray is a touching story that transports audiences to the charming and idyllic
town of Gray, Indiana, in the late 19th century. Written by Jim Leonard Jr., this coming-of-age
tale explores the themes of love, loss, faith, and the human spirit & resilience in the face of
adversity. Set against the backdrop of a mysterious arrival, the residents of Gray embark on a
journey of self-discovery that will forever change their lives.

This production is directed by Marcus Laban, and assistant directed by Penelope Calcaterra.
The show is produced by Sarah Kwas. Director, Marcus Laban, is no stranger to the St.
Dunstan’s stage and has taken on many roles over the years – both on stage and off. The
talented cast and crew at St. Dunstan & Theatre have worked tirelessly to create a
mesmerizing experience that will resonate with audiences of all ages. We are excited to bring
Anatomy of Gray; to the stage, said Laban. I had the opportunity to see a production of this
show in college and have wanted to direct if for over a decade now. I love the strong human
connection this script forms so effortlessly. Even though it takes place in the late 1800s, the
subject matter and emotion is relatable to a modern audience.”

“Anatomy of Grey” was lucky enough to cast a strong group of actors to bring these
characters to life including Ashlynn Irvine as June, Jude Purcell as Dr. Galen Gray, Amy
Lauter as Rebekah, Tom Pagano as Pastor Phineas, Jennifer Newton as Tiny, Harry Totten as
Homer, Rachel Biber as Maggie, Dale Feldpausch as Crutch, and Noelle Ochoa as Belva.

Performance Dates:
October 13, 14, 20, 21 at 8 pm and October 15 and 22 at 2 pm
There will be a talkback with the director and cast immediately following the matinee
performance on October 15th.
