The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center on Michigan Avenue in Detroit is offering all items for only $1 as of October 1, 2011.
The price change will remain indefinitely as The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center continues to revitalize this location.
Shoppers can purchase a variety of items, such as shoes, hats, purses, clothing and household goods, all for just $1, excluding orange tag items.
“We are proud to offer such an outstanding value for this community and the entire area,” said Merle Miller, administrator of The Salvation Army Southeast Michigan Adult Rehabilitation Center. “We know this will attract many shoppers looking for our top quality items at a truly rock bottom price.”
The store will continue to participate in weekly 50 percent off sales like The Salvation Army’s other 31 thrift store locations as well, making hundreds of items available for just 50 cents at any given time.

Like all of its stores, proceeds will benefit the nonprofit’s Adult Rehabilitation Centers, which provide free substance abuse rehabilitation for men and women in the area. The Salvation Army programs are independently funded, and receive no assistance from the government.
