Troy Metro Symphony Orchestra Concert: “Many Nations, One Savior”

RARE OPPORTUNITY for our northern Oakland county friends!
The Troy Metro Symphony Orchestra will be traveling back to the church where it all began nineteen years ago, when the orchestra was under the direction of Leonard Holliday and was known as the Orion Chamber Music Society. (Read more about TMSO history here: http://www.troymetro.org/history) We rarely perform concerts this far north, so we hope you’ll take advantage of this opportunity and join us for an exciting evening of FREE symphony music, in a casual, family-friendly setting.

The Troy Metro Symphony Orchestra invites you to embark on a musical adventure around the globe! We will begin in the English countryside with British folk songs (Vaughan-Williams) and travel to America for toe-tapping military music (Sousa). There will be Bohemian folk dances in the Czech Republic, and we will visit the Hebrides Islands off the west coast of Scotland to hear the sea as it crashes against the rocky shore (Mendelssohn). Next, we will travel to Spain for a parade at a town festival (Turina), and we will end the evening with one man’s reverent reflection of a shipwreck off the coast of Wales (Holsinger). We hope you’ll add this incredible concert to your calendar, and we look forward to seeing you there. Admission is free. However, donations are gratefully received.

Children are always welcome! As a teaching orchestra, TMSO loves seeing young people in our audiences! To make our concerts more interactive for children, we provide pages that families can print at home and bring to the concert to complete so your children be more actively involved in our performances. This concert would be a great introduction to the symphony for kids.
