Michigan is seeing some bright young stars.
Forbes released its annual 30 Under 30 list Tuesday, highlighting young creatives and workers across a variety of fields such as science, media and healthcare. And young stars from Michigan and Detroit made it on the list.
Yelitsa Jean-Charles, 26, lives in Detroit and made it to the Retail and Ecommerce section for her line of dolls fashioned after brown and Black women with curly, natural hair.
According to Jean-Charles’s biography, it was the type of doll she wished she could have had as a child and her goal was to make sure other young chi had someone to look to growing up.
